Jura · Super-autoWE8
Jura's entry-level Professional-line super-automatic, built for small offices and high-volume households that need reliable one-touch milk drinks all day without a barista on staff.
The short version
The WE8 is a workhorse super-automatic with a large hopper, a substantial water tank, and Jura's P.E.P.
extraction in a package rated for around 30 drinks a day — exactly what a breakroom or salon needs. Buyers must accept that shot craft is entirely ceded to the machine, and that the milk system requires daily cleaning discipline to stay hygienic.
Why people buy it
- Rated for 30+ drinks a day with a 3-liter tank and 500g hopper — genuinely built for shared environments
- P.E.P. pulse extraction and AromaG3 conical-burr grinder consistently produce better extraction than most super-autos at this price
Why they don’t
- Milk system requires daily rinsing and periodic deep cleaning — neglect quickly leads to blockages and hygiene issues
The full tally
- Rated for 30+ drinks a day with a 3-liter tank and 500g hopper — genuinely built for shared environments
- P.E.P. pulse extraction and AromaG3 conical-burr grinder consistently produce better extraction than most super-autos at this price
- One-touch milk drinks without moving the cup, plus fully adjustable dispensing spout height for different glass sizes
- RFID-based Intelligent Water System tracks CLEARYL filter life automatically, reducing maintenance guesswork
- Milk system requires daily rinsing and periodic deep cleaning — neglect quickly leads to blockages and hygiene issues
- Mostly plastic housing at a price point where buyers reasonably expect more metal construction
- Shot quality ceiling is firmly super-auto; no ability to dial in extraction the way a semi-automatic or manual machine allows
What the community knows
Years of owner threads, distilled — a niche favourite.
Excels at office volume and zero-thought operation but proprietary parts, sealed design, and low extraction ceiling lock home enthusiasts out of growth — buy only if you want convenience over control and accept you will never tinker or upgrade components.

Worth knowing before you buy — Most home buyers who consider it end up realizing they are paying for office-grade reliability and volume capacity they do not need, and would stretch budget toward a manual or semi-auto with a real upgrade path instead.
Known weak points — Proprietary brewing unit and grinder units are expensive to replace out of warranty; sealed architecture limits user repair beyond routine descaling
“The WE8 offers the capacity for 30 to 40 drinks a day—just the thing for a busy office space.”
“Coffee and Espresso Extraction – The famous Jura grinder and brewing unit technology means the extraction on all 'black coffee' drinks is still a level ahead of other bean to cup options.”
“The Jura WE8 is both a workhorse and a showpiece. With a beautiful chrome finish, amber cup illumination and modern touch screen display, its appearance is as luxurious as the coffee it brews.”

Living with it
The part spec sheets skip: counter space, upkeep, and what owners learn later.
The honest note — Users who outgrow the WE8 typically want either more drink variety (Jura W8, the direct successor with 17 specialties) or actual craft control, at which point they exit the super-auto category entirely toward a semi-automatic with a dedicated grinder.

Before it arrives
What completes this machine — the faded pieces can wait.
Hover any piece for its why.
- Espresso cups & glassware — Proper demitasse and latte glasses keep the drink hot and look the part.
Feed it right
Week one is dial-in — and stale beans will lose it.
Coffee more than a few weeks past roast won’t extract predictably, and a new machine gets blamed for it. Super-autos reward consistency: a stable medium roast keeps the hopper predictable and the milk drinks sweet.

Common questions
How many drinks per day can the Jura WE8 handle?
Jura rates the WE8 for approximately 30 drinks per day, though Seattle Coffee Gear notes 30–40. The large 3-liter water tank and 500g bean hopper support sustained throughput without constant refilling.
Does the Jura WE8 work with an app?
No. The WE8 does not support the J.O.E. app. Operation is via a color TFT display and front navigation buttons only.
Does the WE8 include a milk carafe?
The machine ships with a milk pipe and container for milk system cleaning, but not a dedicated integrated carafe. Milk is drawn via a siphon/fine foam frother from a separate container or the optional Jura Cool Control cooler.
Is the WE8 still current, or has it been replaced?
The WE8 (item #15145) remains listed and sold on Jura US and major retailers as of 2025–2026. Jura has introduced the W8 as an updated successor offering 17 specialties, but the WE8 continues to be sold alongside it.
How do I clean the milk system on the WE8?
The WE8 has integrated rinsing and cleaning programs for the fine foam frother. Jura recommends daily cleaning of the milk system when milk drinks have been prepared, using only original Jura milk system cleaner tablets.
