Gaggia · Espresso machineCadorna Prestige

Italian-made bean-to-cup super-automatic with 15 one-touch drinks, a fridge-storable integrated milk carafe, and four user profiles at a price well below comparable Jura or DeLonghi offerings.

The short version

The Cadorna Prestige is Gaggia's full-feature super-automatic: a compact, 100% Italian-built machine that covers the full milk-drink menu and saves drink preferences per household member without demanding any barista skill.

The one non-negotiable trade-off is the milk path — skip the daily rinse and the carafe's performance degrades faster than most competitors.

Why people buy it

  • 15 one-touch beverages including over-ice coffee covers the widest menu in the Cadorna line
  • Integrated milk carafe auto-rinses after every milk drink and stores in the fridge — genuine daily convenience

Why they don’t

  • Milk path punishes neglect hard: skip the weekly full carafe wash and microfoam quality drops noticeably

What the community knows

Years of owner threads, distilled.

Well-regarded for accessible workflow and value among super-automatics, with genuine user loyalty; reliability concerns and milking issues temper broader enthusiasm. Gaggia's ecosystem and Italian build history earn trust, but recent-model longevity still being tested.

Living with it

The part spec sheets skip: counter space, upkeep, and what owners learn later.

The honest note — Owners who want genuine espresso craft — dialing in grind, pressure profiling, or latte art — typically move to a semi-automatic like the Gaggia Classic Pro or Breville Barista Express once the convenience ceiling of the super-auto becomes limiting. Those who just want a larger milk volume or quieter operation often step into the DeLonghi Dinamica Plus or Jura E8.

Common questions

How many beverages does the Cadorna Prestige make?

15 pre-programmed beverages including ristretto, espresso, lungo, americano, cappuccino, cappuccino XL, café au lait, cortado, latte macchiato, latte macchiato XL, flat white, frothed milk, hot water, and over-ice coffee.

Can the milk carafe be stored in the fridge?

Yes. The integrated carafe detaches and is designed to be stored in the refrigerator between uses, and the machine runs an automatic rinse cycle after each milk-based drink.

Is the brew group removable?

Yes. It is accessed through a side panel, pulls out, and can be rinsed under the tap — Gaggia recommends doing this at least weekly.

Does the Cadorna Prestige have a PID?

No. It uses a Quick Heat thermoblock with three selectable temperature steps rather than a continuously adjustable PID. Brew temperature is not freely programmable.

What grinder does it use?

An integrated ceramic flat burr grinder with 10 grind-size steps. Ceramic burrs resist heat and preserve bean aromatics, though oily beans should be avoided as they can cause clogging.
